Description
This really is a rare opportunity to buy a stunning property in a highly sought after location. Located less than 20 minutes walk from the popular village of Salinas in a community with a large amount of ex pats living in harmony with friendly Spanish residents.
Main House
The main house has undergone a complete reform using high quality materials and is beautifully presented.
Access is via a large veranda which overlooks the garden, which is full of typical mediterranean trees and shrubs.
The fornt door leads into a fabulous kitchen which has been recently fitted and benefits from all new appliances. There is plenty of work space for the most enthusiastic of chefs, and likewise plenty of storage.
The kitchen leads into a large lounge which again is beautifully presented. The same quality porcelain floor tile follow through from the kitchen. There is a huge sofa which fits comfortably in this large space facing the tv. Double patio doors lead out to the veranda, and even from the lounge the garden views can be appreciated.
Then we have a spacious bathroom with bath which also has a shower, There is an attractive suspended basin unit, and the whole room is finished with modern tiles.
Finally we have two double bedrooms, each with plenty of storage
Guest Annex
This is a project which is nearing completion and the price includes the project being completely finished. What we have here is an annex with two ample double bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, and double patio doors overlooking the garden and orchard. Separating the two bedrooms there is a kitchenette. The area in-front of the guest building will be finished off in coloured gravel leaving the area tidy and ready for use.
The same quality materials used for the main house have already been purchased for the annex , so quality is guaranteed.
Pool
The pool is a fantastic size, 11×5 meters with surrounding terrace, a dream area to enjoy with family and friends. There is a pump room, and also a bathroom for convenience close to the pool.
The plot itself is incredibly private. Whilst there are neighbors in the area a well developed conifer hedge provides intimacy for the whole plot.
From the entrance gate we have a driveway which is lined by indigenous shrubs and flowers. Then we have a large orchard which is mainly olives, however there is also a wide selection of mature fruit trees. Then we have larger trees providing shade, perfect for sitting under in summer time, and indeed parking under. that said there is also a triple carport
Other features. The property has mains electric but also has a recently fitted 6kw solar system. This obviously can vastly reduce living expenses, and is ideal should you decide to invest in a heat pump for the swimming pool to double the months that you can enjoy the pool.
The property has a commercial air conditioning machine fitted which supplies hot or cold air via ducting to all areas of the house, and it will also be connected to the guest annex.
The property benefits from mains water, and has high speed internet.
There is a new garden shed.
There is an alarm connected to a security company and also a CCTV system which can be monitored from a mobile phone anywhere in the world, which offers peace of mind.
The property is just 10 minutes walk to town.
Salinas, a charming town that could soon become your new home. Having lived nearby for 20 years, I can confidently say that Salinas is a place where you can quickly build a network of friends and contacts. It’s a small town where locals soon start recognising you, and both Spanish and ex-pats warmly embrace newcomers, offering help in many areas. The town hall staff are incredibly helpful and friendly too.
Salinas has a strong sense of community, with various Facebook groups where you can benefit from the experience of others, making your transition to a new life much easier. Although it’s a small place, it boasts typical local shops for meat, bread, and other essentials. I always support smaller local businesses, and you will find friendly butchers and bakers within the town, where you can enjoy a personal service and build relationships with the owners, staff, and clients.
For a greater selection of supermarkets, Sax is just a 5-minute drive away. Here, you will find Consum, a store that stocks international foods and has a fantastic fresh fish counter, a vast range of cheeses, vegetables, and cured meats, as well as all the typical items you would hope to find in any major supermarket chain.
If you are concerned about the Spanish health system, worry no more. Salinas has its own health centre, while Sax has a 24-hour medical centre with some English-speaking doctors and nurses. Additionally, Elda hospital, only a 15-minute drive from Salinas, offers excellent healthcare services.
Transportation is convenient with a bus service to Sax, where you have more options to catch a train, taxi, or bus to other surrounding towns and Alicante.
Culture, history, art, and theatre enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy between Salinas and Sax. Both towns have a theatre and a newly built auditorium. The locals celebrate their rich culture throughout the year, with the pinnacle being the Moors and Christians festival. This spectacular event features re-enactments of conquests and victory celebrations with participants dressed in ancient military costumes, blunderbusses and cannons firing in the streets. The “Cuartalillos” are group-owned buildings filled with food and drinks, offering a base for days (and nights) of celebrations. Being invited to these festivities is a great honour, so be sure not to offer to pay, as your hosts will be disappointed – they save all year for the privilege of inviting guests.
Even after 20 years, I still don’t know all the fiestas, but it has become a part of life to walk down the street and find people in costume or engaging in activities their ancestors did. The carnival is more recent, but traditional events like the burial of the Sardines and the town’s walk to the mountain to pick fresh rosemary have been celebrated for many years. These fiestas are always good fun and often involve some alcohol consumption!
With over 50 bars within the two towns, many serving tapas and hearty meals at exceptional prices, you’ll never be short of places to enjoy a meal. A three-course meal, often including beer, wine, or coffee, can be had for around 12 euros. If you ask for wine and they put a bottle on the table, don’t feel you need to drink it all!
We pride ourselves on providing excellent after-sales service and will make your move here straightforward and hassle-free. We have all the contacts you will need to settle in comfortably.
We look forward to welcoming you to Salinas and helping you embark on this exciting new chapter in your life!
