Elda/Petrer are fantastic places to live being only 5 minutes from Modern shops and bars and the Carrefour supermarket, all the necessary amenities.

Petrer is 25 minutes from Alicante airport and beaches. It has a regular bus service to Alicante. The old town has kept its original charm, and surrounds the impressive Castle. Beyond the old town however new apartments and business have appeared in the last 20 years, and the new town really offers anything that you would need. Modern restaurants including Dominoes, Macdonalds and Burger king, to many more traditional tapas bars, grills, and international eateries. There are a choice of supermarkets including Aldi, and Carrefour, and the more typical “Mercadonas”, and “Mas Y Mas”. Two cinema complexes, one of which has some English films and other Leisure facilities.

There are several large Parks in the town, one of which is immense, and beautifully maintained. It includes a great restaurant, carp ponds, children’s area, concert area, waterwheel and stunning examples of palm trees. Despite having so much to offer this is a traditional town, mainly undiscovered by foreigners, with very little tourist trade. As such it remains busy all year long with local activities, and does not die a death in the holiday off season. Hence ideal for all year living. There are good sports centres within the town, and a lovely outside communal pool open in the summer months, and an indoor pool open all year around.

Petrel and Elda are two towns which have expanded into one conurbation. Between the two no shortage of fiestas either. Although one big place each town has its own dates for fiestas, so you get double the cultural and social activity than most places.

Although having a combined population of over 100,000, you can still find tranquillity within the towns. Petrel in particular has a really quaint old town with narrow cobbled streets leading up to the impressive castle.

Being little over 20 minutes from Alicante airport, and the beach this area offers value for money whilst being within a short drive to the coast. Transport links are great, there is a direct motorway, as well as regular bus and train service to the coast.

Petrel mountainside is one of the most beautiful in the Valencian community. Various steep valleys climb up towards the famous El Cid mountain. Water flow down the mountains over thousands of years has carved some stunning gorges into the landscape.

Being so picturesque the area is popular with walkers, and cyclists. There is also a good selection of country restaurants to use whilst you explore.

The town of Sax is a small friendly town, but with all amenities. 6 or 7 supermarkets, various butchers, bakers, hardware shops, builders merchants. Around 50 Tapas bars. Not being a tourist town it remains bustling all year long. There is an expat community, the majority live here all year long in the surrounding countryside. The town has a rich history and is known for its gastronomy, wine, and stunning Castle.

Public transport links to Alicante, include regualar bus and train services, also a direct motorway meaning only 30 minutes to the beach or airport. Benidorm 1 hour away. Located on Costa Blanca, some of the best weather on the Spanish peninsular
